Whether you exhibit once a year or every week, you may be using display stands. You may also find yourself wondering whether it is wiser to rent your display stands or buy them. The answer may be simple for you, but before you come to your conclusion, read about some of the factors to consider in each scenario so that you can make an informed decsision.

Rent

There are several different situations in which renting display stands just makes more sense than purchasing them. Below are some scenarios where renting display stands may be the right option.

- For example, if you are attending an exhibition internationally, it may be more cost-effective to rent display stands locally than it would be to ship them overseas. In this situation, care must be taken to rent from a reputable source.

- Another situation in which renting display stands is the better choice is when you’re trying exhibition as a new marketing technique or are just getting started. In this case, you may not be ready to invest in your own display stands. If this is the situation you find yourself in, you may decide to rent display stands until you’re sure the commitment will be worth it.

- You may already own a display stand or even multiple stands. However, a particular event may come up where you have the opportunity to exhibit in two places at once and you may not have enough display stands. In this case, renting one or more display stands can allow you to maximize your exhibitions in a cost-effective manner.

Buy

Other circumstances definitely warrant investing in your own display stands. Even if you begin by renting display stands, you may soon realize that the frequency with which you find yourself renting them makes purchasing your own permanent ones the wiser choice.

- If your business model includes selling mostly at trade-show or exhibition style outlets such as flea markets, swap meets or other such venues, you are probably using display stands very often. In this scenario, it is wise to invest in your own display stands, as the cost will be made up in what you would have otherwise spent in rentals.

- If most of the exhibitions you participate are local and you are able to transport them, or if the cost of shipping them to the exhibitions you exhibit at is reasonable, then buying may be a good option for you.

- If trade show marketing is a large part of your overall marketing plan, then hopefully you will find yourself participating in several trade shows over the course of a year. If trade show marketing is integral to your business, then chances are that you will be participating in trade shows for several years and can definitely benefit from investing in display stands.

The Verdict

Basically, to rent or buy display stands is a matter of circumstance. It all depends on circumstances such as how often you would be using them, how near or far they would be transported, etc. These circumstances would determine whether the investment and commitment of purchasing your own display stands is warranted, or whether renting the display stands is smarter for your purposes. No matter which route you end up deciding is right for you and your business, make sure you do your research. Whether you rent or buy display stands you will want to be sure to deal with a reputable dealer. You should also be a smart consumer and shop around to ensure you get the best value and most reasonable pricing available.

Ballance display offers display stands as well as trade show display rentals for all of your trade show needs.

Mailing Labels

Sep-29-2008 By PeterPantora

This article will be focusing on the many reasons for using mailing labels in professional or personal letter writing. If you as an individual, no matter what your profession may be, want people to know your identity and what your status in life is, then chances are you are willing to do whatever possible advertising method there is to promote those qualities. Though it is not obvious, a small yet effective method you can do is by creating a mailing label for your letters. For example, if you are a teacher and would like to send letters of referral or notices to the parents of your students, you can inform them of who you are immediately through the educational style of the mailing label at the back of the envelope. If you want your friends to remember who you are in your letters, your own personal mailing label should do the trick.

Writing addresses manually or making address labels can be quite tedious at first, especially if you are an office employee and are required to compose and stack numerous company letters for various customers. But now with advanced technology, there are programs which you can use to make that task a whole lot easier for you. By creating and designing company mailing labels, you will also be making an impression to your boss that you are willing to take the initiative to look for better ways in doing your job. You will also be giving yourself loads of time saved from writing addresses repeatedly and who knows, your label design might become the company’s standard mailing label for its letters to the customers.

You have already come up with the perfect look, so all you need to do is to turn that design into a reality by printing them out. A few sheets of sticky labels and a laser printer should do the trick. Once you receive your output, all you need to do is just write the customer’s home or office address and just stick them away.

Mailing labels come in different styles, which also mean you can print your own personal mailing labels for different occasions. Whether you are hosting or promoting an event that is being held in your community, you can reach out to others by informing them through mail. By looking at the mailing label’s design, they will instantly have an idea at what it is going to be about. It does not even have to involve a large audience. You can inform even your own parents who live a distance away from you that you will be holding a birthday celebration or that you just gave birth to a baby boy by decorating your envelopes with birthday presents and blue baby shoes. You can either download these specific label designs off the Internet for a small price or create your own using whatever mail labeling program there is available. Microsoft Office Word 2007 has the mail label feature where you can create and design your own mailing labels in an instant. Explore and you’ll be amazed at what technology can do for you.

An online merchant account is a specialized account with the bank that allows the merchant to accept online transactions using a credit or debit card. With several merchants opting for online businesses, presence of an online merchant account is fast becoming a necessity.

One important factor that determines the selection of a merchant service provider is the cost associated with a merchant account. These costs tend to differ from provider to provider and are usually high. Hence, many online business firms tend to be apprehensive about these accounts. In order to increase their business, merchant service providers or banks are always coming up with innovative business strategies. One such strategy is offering free merchant accounts. In this context, it is important to understand the differences between a paid merchant account and a free merchant.

A free merchant account is one where the merchant service provider doesn’t collect any membership charges from the merchant nor charge any setup fees. This means that the merchant need not pay anything in order to register with the merchant provider and receives the necessary payment gateway information and setup guide free of cost. Many merchants tend to have an impression that free merchant accounts are much better than a paid one. However, these accounts have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. It is important to know about these before opting for a free account or a paid account.

In this world, nothing comes for free. If one is underpaying for something that needs to be compensated by overpaying for something else. The same is happening with free accounts. The only advantage of a free account is that the merchant gets the account without paying a single penny. However, the disadvantages are many. These include higher processing rates and chargeback rates that can cost much more than the costs incurred on a paid account. These high rates are charged by service providers so as to compensate the money lost due to free registration process.

One can easily determine the difference in charges by doing a simple comparison. For example, assume that the average costs on a free account levied by a merchant service provider for every online transaction is equal to $1.00 + 5% of the entire transaction amount. This means that if a customer has purchased an item worth $100, then the same is paid by the customer. However, the merchant doesn’t receive the entire amount. The service provider deducts the costs and deposits the remaining amount in the merchant’s account. Hence, for every $100 transaction, the merchant has to lose $6 towards charges. As a result, he/she will get only $94 (5% of transaction amount=$5.00 + $1.00=$6.00). In reality, service providers have been known to even charge rates as high as $14 on free accounts. In contrast, charges on a commercial or paid account are much less. As a result, greater savings and higher profits seem to be possible through a paid account.

Another major disadvantage of a free account is lack of technical and customer service from the service provider. As a result, merchants have to compromise on the security and stability of the payment gateway and the transaction.

On the contrary, a paid account has all the advantages including lower processing rates and providing secured transaction gateways to the customers. Also, banks tend to offer rewards on transactions where paid accounts are being used. Free accounts usually don’t have any such offers.

Hence, one should choose an online merchant account depending on the requirements and needs of the business firm.

Pay per click marketing can offer a very powerful way to reach a targeted audience at a relatively low cost compared to traditional media based advertising methods. There are a few major pay per click sources on the internet and they include Google, Yahoo and MSN. There are many smaller pay per click providers where you may be able to get cheaper clicks however testing is the only way to determine if they are worth using.

Initially it may be best to stick with the big 3 as they can deliver the most traffic and also the best quality traffic. Google adwords is probably the best of the three and it is worth learning how to run profitable campaigns on adwords as many successful businesses use this service to increase customers and profits. Here are a few tips to help you increase sales and profits using Google adwords:

Tip 1: Keywords are vital

The keywords you pick have a big impact on the kind of traffic you receive and the success of your campaigns. Always select the most targeted keywords possible to ensure that your ads are as relevant as possible. Try to get the keyword somewhere in the ad copy and the landing pages as this will ensure maximum relevancy and the highest possible quality score.

Tip 2: Get high click through rates

Certain search network ads can draw as high as 10 to 15 percent click through rates. Do not expect as high click through rates with the content network though. A high initial click through rate can be attained by bidding high to start to ensure top positioning and then slowing reducing bids while still maintaining good click through rates and positions. Take advantage of position preferences to ensure your ads only get impressions in the top 5 to 8 spots.

Tip 3: Setup smaller ad groups

It may be best to setup smaller and more targeted ad groups instead of having a huge keyword list for your ad groups. You can still target many keywords but just break them up into smaller ad groups to ensure maximum relevancy and quality which will help you pay less per click since your quality scores should be good if you are setting up highly relevant ads and landing pages.

Tip 4: Use conversion tracking

If you own the products you are advertising then you must take advantage of conversion tracking. It is very simple to implement as it only requires adding a small piece of code to certain pages on your site and it can really provide you with valuable information regarding the performance of certain keywords. You may be surprised how some keywords convert into sales much better than others. You may want to increase bids on those high performing keywords to maximize sales and ROI. If you are an affiliate see if you can get your merchant to add the code if possible, many will comply since they know you are trying to generate the most sales possible and that it is in their best interests. Follow some of these ppc advertising tips to help you run more successful online advertising campaigns.

The Art of Leaflet Design

Sep-29-2008 By UngiraPandit

So you’ve spent practically your whole budget and life savings into starting up a brand new business on your own. You want to start running your business as soon as possible to get a return on investment and start making a profit. There’s barely enough pounds left for you to get the word out to the public that your business exists. With little money to spare, have you considered the idea of advertising with leaflets? A Leaflet is a cost effective, exclusive, personal and an easy direct marketing tactic to get the message out to your potential customers. You can mail out leaflets, distribute them door-to-door, or hand them out in person.

When people learn about your business, what it offers, the range of products, and other highlighted details from your leaflet, they will become interested and will be keen to visit your store. It is a chance to inform the public about established organisations, causes or companies your business may be affiliated with. Leaflets make people aware of your brand which helps the public gain trust in your company and associate with your business. In order to effectively promote your company using leaflet advertising, the first step is to ensure you have a good sense of leaflet design that would be appealing to people reading your leaflet.

A leaflet has several aspects dependent on the quality of the design. The top 3 inches of the cover of your leaflet are the most important. Those 3 inches are what people are going to judge your leaflet by, to determine whether they’re going to read the rest of your leaflet or not. It should be your utmost priority to attract a passer-by’s attention with a captivating headline and so they can comprehend the purpose of your leaflet at a quick glance. Since leaflet design has the advantage of having more space to work with as compared to flyer design, use it! Utilise the space on your leaflet to highlight a few key points of information.

Then take the time to select one or two images to incorporate into your leaflet design, in order to create the right impact in the reader’s mind and backup your information. You should be able to give out a clear concise message to the person reading your leaflet. Do not confuse them by including too much information printed on your leaflet. The standard leaflet sizes vary from 1/3 A4 and A3 or A4 sizes folded into A5 sized leaflets. These sizes are considered to be standard since they have the convenient feature of fitting into a person’s pocket. This convenience will allow a person to read your leaflet in depth at a later time. If you produce bulky leaflets which are difficult to store in a purse or pocket, they are going to be thrown out by people instead of read.

The ink and paper chosen for your leaflet should be sturdy enough to handle any type of weather conditions or external force factors. The ink should be a higher quality of ink which is less likely to run if the leaflet gets moist or wet. The paper should be strong enough so that it doesn’t tear easily and is able to maintain its presentable form. Nothing is better than a sale, discount or one time offer, to give the public a reason to visit your business, so make sure to mention these specifics. People get extremely turned off by bad grammar and spelling errors. It makes people think your business is not significant or serious enough to be worth their time or money. So verify that your leaflet design is free from any sort of errors. Many businesses that print leaflets, fail to request for a preview before printing their whole order of leaflets. Only when the whole order is printed, do they realise something needed to be changed. Get a preview printout to get an idea of how your leaflet will look. Once you have had a chance to examine the preview, any small enhancements or adjustments can be made, to have an excellent leaflet design to promote your business.

Top 5 Reasons Most Internet Businesses Fail

Sep-29-2008 By MarkYarrobino

If you’ve been online for any amount of time, then I’m sure you’ve heard many of the success stories about internet entrepreneurs, and how they’re making millions every year, and you’ve probably heard how easy it is for you to do it, too.

And the truth is, it actually is kind of easy, but not as easy as most salesmen would have you believe. There is a little bit of work involved, and anyone who’s really been successful has put in the time and effort to get there. And they’ve managed to avoid the pitfalls on this list.

If you’re trying to start your online business and things haven’t gone as well as you’ve hoped so far, then hopefully, these suggestions will help.

Here are the five most common reasons that most internet businesses fail that I’ve seen, in no particular order:

1. Information overload

You’ve probably already been inundated with emails explaining how some new money making scheme is the hottest thing on the planet and you need to get in now so that you’re on the cutting edge of internet marketing.

The problem is that you haven’t finished working on the previous hot new thing yet, and as soon as you start this one, yet another hot idea will hit, and so on, and so on.

In every legitimate email you get, there should be an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom. Start clicking on it, and just stick with a few of the people who you know are giving you good information about building your business from start to finish in the right order without any distractions.

And make sure that you see every task through to completion before moving onto the next one. It’s the only real way to get anything done.

2. The curse of perfection

Speaking of seeing tasks through to completion, also consider that not everything on your website and in your sales process has to be absolutely perfect before you can unleash it on the public.

So many home business owners who are just starting out have a habit of obsessing over every little detail forever before they’ll allow themselves to launch their site.

Stop it. It doesn’t have to be perfect. That doesn’t mean that you don’t need to make sure your website is working properly first. It means that you can work on adjusting small details, such as the color scheme, the sales copy, the images, later on. In fact, if you’re planning to do any proper testing (and you should be), then you should be constantly working on those items anyway.

So get your website out there, get some traffic, make sure the big things are working right, and then worry about adjusting the small details.

3. Waiting for the “magic bullet”

Let me just start by saying that there is no magic bullet when it come to running your own business, or doing any kind of work online.

I know that a lot of salesmen make it sound that way when you’re reading their sales letters, but it simply isn’t true. They’re lying to you. And even if they’re not lying to you, and let’s say their system does work, it’s only going to work for a short period of time, and it’s only going to make you a little bit of money. Not the millions they’re promising.

That’s why I constantly warn people away from the “business-in-a-box” opportunities. The result is never very good. Maybe you’ll make a small bit of side money, if you’re lucky. Besides, why would you want to sell the same thing everyone else is selling anyway?

The only way to have lasting success online is to have your own website that is unlike anyone else’s, that you’ve built up into a success, with a loyal customer base, one step at a time.

4. Being a shopaholic

This goes along with #3 above. Stop paying for every new scheme that comes along because they’re promising you instant riches. All that’s going to do is drain you of your money.

And then, if you’re like so many others, there’s a good chance you’ll get frustrated and give up on the whole thing, because you don’t know who you can trust anymore, and you don’t want to take a chance. So your dream of working from home is over before it began.

Or, maybe they’re not selling you a scam, but in fact have legitimate programs that many people use successfully in their businesses. That’s great, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s right for you right now. It might be something that will be a good investment for your business later on, but you should really concentrate on getting your website up and running first. Otherwise you end up with information overload as described in #1 above.

5. Fear of technology

Just because you’ve never tried something before doesn’t mean that you can’t learn to do it. Think about pretty much everything you’ve ever done, especially the things you’re good at. Did you always know how to do that, or did you learn it over time?

I’m guessing that you learned it, and you can learn to do a lot of the work on your website, too. I constantly have to tell the people I meet that it’s in their best interest to learn at least a little bit of the technical stuff that comes with having a website.

I’m not saying you have to be a programming expert. In fact, if you need heavy duty programming done, then you should definitely get someone to do it for you. It’ll save you a lot of time, for one. But there’s no reason why you can’t learn some of the basics of HTML so that whenever you need to make a small change to your website (such as the testing we talked about earlier) you won’t have to pay someone to do it for you. And you won’t have to wait for them to have the time.

It’s not as hard as you think. It just takes a little time to learn it.

Conclusion

The most important point I’m trying to convey is that, in order to be successful online, you need to remain focused on one task at a time. Finish that task and move onto the next one. Finish that task and move on. And keep going until you’re done.

Stop investing in every fancy new program that comes along. There are no “magic bullets” anyway. Stick to the plan from the beginning, and see it through to the end.

Starting a new website does require a bit of work at the beginning. There’s no way around that if you want to succeed. But the great thing about working online is that once you have everything set up, you can put almost all of it on autopilot and bring in money 24 hours a day with a minimum of work.

So get started now, don’t be afraid that you can’t do it, don’t get frustrated, and don’t let anything distract you. You could be making very good money in very little time if you do it right.

If you are thinking about joining an affiliate business, then you have already made a good business decision that will earn you more money and in a very short span of time.

However, before you venture further, it is necessary to understand why many people happen to fail at this same apparently very promising and assuredly foolproof business model.

Before you join a seemingly promising affiliate program you should perhaps consider the following pointers that will certainly help you avoid pitfalls and select the affiliate program that is correct and productive, and works for you to be sure that you will definitely make money with it.

1. Review the type of target audience that is involved in the affiliate program

This is a very important step that you should seriously think about. Different affiliate programs are created to reach out to different kinds of market. You need to choose a program that in at least some way falls in your area of proficiency. It is not very easy to promote a product that you know nothing about. Search for affiliate programs in a ‘hot’ niche where people pay money for products.

2. Get as much information as possible

Instead of haste, devoting some time to review the current market related to your program will never harm. For example, your program may offer you unbelievably high commissions; but do the products really sell? Is there enough market for the product that you are going to promote? Check out the keywords and how many searches are performed every day related to that niche. Then you will have a greater view if your selected affiliate program is going to be profitable.

3. Competition never hurts!

Check out the competitors for your affiliate program. This should be very easy with the internet. The more competitors there are the more better it is. With as many competitors you can always be assured of a sizable market that has enough room for your product. This means that many people are interested in such products and you definitely have a great chance of selling it.

4. Does affiliate program offer a referral bonus?

As a rule, any good and sustainable affiliate program should be able to offer you reasonable referral bonuses and second or third degree commissions on referral sales. This way your earnings amplify considerably.

5. Check out your commissions

Maybe some affiliate program offers you a stunning 75% commission. This is exactly when you check out the fine print! Do they really pay that much, or are there any ancillary clauses attached?

6. Check out Payment methods and Payouts

Does your affiliate program use the widely used online payments methods like Paypal or Bank checks? Check this out. Maybe they pay good but you don’t want to wait for six months or more to withdraw your first payment. This way you can also assess the prior payment history of your program. If you want to prevent disappointments beforehand this tip is something you should not ignore.

7. Do a Search Online About Your Selected Affiliate Program

You can find more information about your program, for example, through current affiliates. This way you can assess the practical problems if any, and perks associated with your program. Do some research in affiliate marketing forums, do some search on Google and you will find everything.

8. When you finally decide to go for a certain program, assess all your options carefully taking help from above tips. Don’t rush yourself in to a program knowing that it is not the perfect one for you. There are many others affiliate programs that might suit you much better.

So you’ve had enough of your start-up business, and want to sell it while the going’s good and move on to better things (or simply retire on the profit you make?). Good for you – but beware there’s lots to do before you sign your last business agreement. There’s too much to cover in one article, so I’ve boiled it down to the question on most business owners’ lips when they’re looking to pass the baton: “how do I get the best price possible for my business?”

Plan Ahead

Well, for starters ideally you will be aware you want to sell several months – maybe even years – in advance of time. This will not only give you more time to consider bids and get things in order, but will also ensure you don’t end up selling at a low point in the economy, or in a seasonal slump. Of course it goes without saying that the best time to sell is when profits are on the up with potential to go further, so if you have a company that thrives at a particular time of year, then aim to have signed your last business document by then.

This steady slowing down process also allows you to make sure every aspect of your business is in order for a smooth transition. Get key business agreements in order, ensure the equipment is well maintained and that you’re complying with all legislation – all of this will make for a smoother handover, allowing you to move on quicker.

Have your Finances Up to Date

Of course the most important aspect of your business to potential buyers is how much money it can make them – and to that end, how much money it made you is important information. Get your financial business documents in order, and make sure you have 3 years worth of income statements, tax returns, the lease, any loans against your business and other documents that might be relevant to making that sale. Be completely prepared to answer any questions on your business’ finances and you’ll give potential buyers complete confidence.

Make your Business Shine Ahead of the Sale

To get the best possible price on your business, you need to have it looking attractive to buyers. Make all your business documents as impressive as can be, try to boost your quarterly sales with an aggressive campaign, and avoid any big purchases in the closing months to make your profit margins look that bit more impressive. As impressions count for a lot, it may even be worth giving your offices a clean and a fresh lick of paint!

Why Are You Selling?

People are understandably suspicious of buying something that you seem extremely keen to sell. As such, this is invariably a question you will have to deal with, so make sure your answer is sincere while not putting off the buyer, or making you seem desperate to sell for any price!

Don’t Price Yourself Out of the Market

There’s nothing more certain to scare off potential buyers than an unrealistic asking price. Not only this, but it gives the impression that you’re not serious, so you’re unlikely to get any bids, let alone ones that approach your estimation! As a general rule of thumb, the lower the down-payment required, the quicker you can sell your company.

Consider Outside Help

If you don’t feel comfortable aggressively selling your business, maybe it’s time to consider hiring an agent to give you a kick start. If you feel comfortable letting someone else have access to your business documents, they can negotiate with targeted buyers and ensure confidentiality on your behalf. The downside to this is that they will charge between 3 and 7% of the sales price, possibly alongside an upfront fee. If you think you can handle it yourself then you may end up with more, but the flipside is that a good agent can potentially get far more for a sale, meaning you end up with more! Consider your bartering strength, and make your decision based on that.

Don’t let the Business Slide!

With all these things to take care of, it’s understandable that many managers lose sight of the day-to-day running of their businesses, and sales targets get missed. This can make your company look very bad to potential buyers, so it’s vital not to let this happen. If you can’t handle it yourself, it may be worth hiring a temporary manager to deal with the day to day staff management and organisation of business agreements, leaving you to mix with buyers.

6 Business Secrets For a Bad Economy

Sep-29-2008 By TomMarquardt

1. Your Business is Always Open

No matter what the posted hours are for your business, operate as if you’re never closed. Think of it this way, when your doors are shut, do your customers stop spending their money? The traditional hours of Monday through Friday, nine to five, are a very antiquated way of thinking. This is a global economy that’s always “on, open, or alive,” 24/7/52. When you’re sleeping, someone halfway around the world is working. Your business should have a 24/7/52 mentality.

2. Pennies Really Do Add Up

Many businesses make the mistake of looking at the big financial picture and forgetting the small components. Focus your attention on each penny within the business. Surely there is a penny to save here and a penny to save there. Just look around, and when you’re done, over time, that penny will multiply to thousands of dollars a year that can bring down the bottom line. A penny really does add up!

3. Appearance Becomes Perception

Perception is everything and you never get a second chance to make a first impression. In today’s society, people make judgments quickly and labels stick. Take a look at all areas of your business, even the ones customers never see. What’s your first impression? Is everything clean and orderly? Would you like to spend time there? If things don’t look good, make them better and if they’re good, make them great. Remember, you also set the tone for employees in the way you keep behind-the-scenes areas. Their attitude about the business and working environment is conveyed to customers in their interactions.

4. Know What the Joneses Are Doing

Do you know what your competitors are doing right now? Know as much about your competition as you know about your own product — from a customer’s perspective. The only way to prevent the competition from taking your business is to have a better product and market it more effectively. You should know your strengths and weaknesses compared to theirs, and what success and failures they’re enduring. Know the marketplace, the forecast, and how your product compares to the competition. Learn about the “Joneses” today, or one of those “Joneses” may buy or send you out of business tomorrow.

5. Find What Makes You Different

What is it about your product that stands out? Why should someone do business with you rather than someone else? From concrete visual differences to perceived value and price, sit down and make a list of what truly makes your business different from the competition, then focus your marketing efforts to exploit those differences. Marketing to your differences sets you apart in the mind of the consumers and creates a unique identity in a tight marketplace.

6. Reward Current Customers

Attracting new customers takes more money than retaining current ones. It just makes sense to make sure your customers come back. A great way to do that is to implement a customer loyalty program or a reward club. Hotels have been doing it for years and it has driven an amazing amount of brand loyalty. What does your business do for repeat orders from long-standing customers? Do you know who your top twenty clients are? Another great reason to install some sort of repeat customer loyalty program and reward club is that it allows you to capture valuable database information from your clients.

Yes, there are people making money ethically, legally and morally out of thin air using something called “Online Publishing.” As a matter of fact they are delivering real value to their customers in the process. The good news is that you can do it too!

So, who are these people and what are they doing? It’s actually quite simple. For the most part these are regular people like you and me, who know something about a particular topic, and are sharing their knowledge by using what is becoming known as “Online Publishing.”

These infopreneurs are creating e-books, e-courses, audio programs, software, streaming videos and any combination of these to deliver their information products online, in real time, to help their customers learn a new skill, solve a problem or in someway expand their knowledge about a particular topic.

The advent of the Internet has made this world of online publishing, a process that uses technology to deliver information in real time, a reality. Pay-per-click search engine advertising, available from Google and Yahoo have provided the marketing vehicle.

So who are these people, how does all this work, and can you get in on this online publishing phenomena?

The answer to the second part of this question is a big, resounding “YES!”

First, let’s have a look at some real world examples.

Two of the most successful people in the online information business are Joe Vitale and Jim Edwards. Their “Seven Day E-book Secrets” teaches people how to produce an e-book quickly and sell it online.

Another example is “Perry Marshal’s “Definitive Guide to Google Adwords,” an essential resource for anyone using Pay-per-click advertising for their online publishing endeavors.

Others in the business run the gamut from training your parrot to learning how to use Power Point, including my own home study course, “How to Write, Publish and Sell Your Book.”

The key to all of this is email and pay-per-click advertising. Today when someone wants information, the first place they look is usually Google or some other search engine.

By using the pay-per-click, keyword advertising services with these search engines, smart online publishers are able to present their solution to your problem, at the exact time you’re looking for it.

The magic of the web brings the information hungry buyer exactly what they want, when they want it, immediately available for instant delivery. Click! Cha-ching!

So How Can I Make Money with Online Publishing?

Think about what you know. Are you an expert in some particular field? Do you have specific knowledge that other people will pay for? Do you have a passion or hobby that you can teach to others?

I believe that we all have special talents, passions and gifts. My wife Georgia for example, created a program for women titled “Looking Fabulous after 40,” based on her life long love of fashion, beauty and style, and her seminars and consulting with hundreds of women. By “packaging” her knowledge, she is able to make it available to more women, at less cost than her one-on-one services, and have an additional revenue stream in the process. One that works 24/7!

What If I’m Not a Writer?

Even if you’re not a writer, you can get help with the writing or you can do an audio program, some other media, or even develop a software program that helps people accomplish a particular task more efficiently.

There are several Web sites that will connect you with the freelancers that can do everything from simple web pages to developing streaming video presentations to deliver your information and help you get started in online publishing.

Two of these are www.elance.com, for general services and www.rent-a-coder.com, where you find more technical services available, or you can get a copy of the “Seven Day E-Book” and get started immediately.

Regardless of what you choose to do, there are viable income producing opportunities in online publishing that are available to anyone who is willing to do some work.

Best College Summer Jobs

Sep-29-2008 By JamieCohen

Become a sperm donor. Believe it or not, you can actually make money doing what you love. Yes, It’s true, you could have been getting paid for all those years of boredom. You can also do what your man instincts want you to do…spread your seed to more people! Think of it as being with as many people as you want, with out all of them taking your money. Yeah sure, you’re not actually having sex with a woman…. but hey you’re getting paid! You could rake it roughly 5-7 thousand dollars a year for something that you have been doing for 7 years free of charge. That’s $49,000, that you could have had all along. Of course like all jobs, there are drawbacks. You need to be genetically fit in order for these sperm banks to want you. If you believe that you are smart, fit, and good looking this is probably for you. If you’re ugly and stupid… tough luck man, it’s probably better that your seed isn’t spread.

Become a bartender. If you want to meet girls and make decent coin, this is probably for you Joe College. Not only do you make good tips (in the right place), you always gain experience on Social Life 101 making drinks for good looking girls (or ugly ones). Some perks are you can sneak drinks on the job, get decent tips, and meet new and interesting people. The drawbacks of this job are if you aren’t in a good spot, you’ll make no money and serve drinks to losers, probably with mullets. Tip 1: Find a good spot, Tip 2: Get a job there, if you follow those two tips chances are you will make some money and get a couple phone numbers.

Become a lifeguard. As an experienced lifeguard for about 8 years, I can tell you, it’s pretty sweet. Most of the time I would hang around, doing nothing, eat French fries, and work on my tan. If you are in a good place, you will probably meet good looking girls who hang out in bikinis all day. Not bad right? You do not want to work in an apartment complex, and or a retirement community… unless you’re into that. You need a lifeguard certification for that, which is easy to get, go check out your local YMCA. The perks are good looking girls, decent hours, and a laid back atmosphere. The downsides are it may get boring, and the pay will suck.

If you are hanging out at school for the summer, be sure to check out all jobs on your campus. Find the most laid back easy going one of them all. I use to work at a student lab, and let me tell you, it was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. The pay isn’t bad, for the work you will be doing. Chances are you will sit back on the internet listen to some tunes and finish some work. These are some of the best jobs I could think of. I hope this helps you in your journey to find the best summer college jobs.

Have you ever noticed how top bloggers write about the same topic using different angles? For example, when Apple released 3G iPhone, tech bloggers did not spare any time in explaining their views on the product. And thus 3G iPhone became a hot topic in the blogosphere for a few days,

Some of the popular meme tracking sites are Techmeme, Megite, Tailrank and Technorati. Tweetmeme and Twemes are meme trackers for Twitter, the most popular microblogging site. To track meme from these sites, subscribe to their RSS feeds.

Check out Newsflashr, a news aggregation site. It analyzes popular keywords in news headlines and the most popular words show up on the homepage of the site. They also have a tag cloud of hot topics that you can browse to track meme.

The Many Purposes Of Steel Buildings

Sep-29-2008 By AlthafAhmed

Steel buildings are looked upon not just for their strength, but more so for their functionality. There are steel buildings that can be used as functional offices. There are some which host households, while some serve as storage areas. More than providing shelter to individuals, steel buildings have evolved according to the particular requirements of people.

It was during the 20th century when construction companies realized how practical it is to build and make use of steel buildings. While most steel buildings have been destroyed during the Second World War, a lot of companies continued to construct steel buildings especially since steel became more available after World War II.

Steel buildings offer a lot of benefits like having great quality as well as low maintenance costs. Steel buildings are likewise non-combustible, not to mention environment friendly. Construction companies can also save a lot when they construct steel buildings.

Most modern buildings are constructed from steel and are made of various segments evolving over time. Steel buildings are also considered safer since they boast of improved bases. Most modern commercial establishments like restaurants, shopping centers, and the like are housed in steel buildings. There are many houses too that are constructed out of steel.

If you are looking to put up your own steel building you should evaluate first the purpose of building one. Are you constructing a steel building to serve as your residence? Are you doing it for extra storage? In fact you can also construct your own steel building at your own backyard. The Internet is a rich resource of how you can go about constructing your own steel building.

What’s more, steel buildings can also be used as a shelter for your animals. You can have steel buildings to place your pigs, horses, or whatever animals you may have. You can also make use of steel buildings for your simple backyard enterprise, or storage of your important materials.

If you have a business wherein you have some materials that you need to be stored, you would be able to have a good stock room with steel buildings.

Steel buildings can also serve as garages. You can place your car, lawn mover, and even the riding toys and bikes of your kids in a steel building. You can save tons of spaces if you use steel buildings.

You can also make your steel buildings as carports that would shelter your vehicles from weather disturbances like rains and even the heat. Of course, no man made creation can withstand nature’s wrath, yet steel buildings do a good job to a certain extent.

There is one negative side to building the above structures using steel and that is, steel can heat up fast and during sunny days, they may not really be favorable. Especially if you are considering building shelter homes for animals, consider building some sort of heat proof to avoid any complications that may arise otherwise. Whatever you do, a long term plan is mandatory to make your investment the best and safest.

Why do so many people involve themselves in get rich quick schemes that often leave them cashless and frustrated? Maybe because all of us want to believe it’s possible to have it all – for free.

Essentially this theory taps into a couple of ugly traits among the common tribe of man. Those traits are greed and laziness.

Sometimes life itself places us in the path of financial need. We may turn to a get rich quick idea simply because it seems to be our last resort. If the money can be acquired quickly then so many problems are avoided. Sadly, too many of these moneymaking ideas only contribute to the problem.

For instance (and I don’t mean to single this one out) many rebate processing jobs sound great. Individuals will buy into the idea using the last of needed reserves only to discover they will be required to actually sell a product or products before they can process a rebate and receive funds.

Obviously there may be legitimate offers that are helping struggling families, but there are many of the too-good-to-be-true ideas that are leaving families a little further in the hole.

The moneymaking ideas I suggest are often of the home grown variety. These ideas work because they come from your own mind and experience. You recognize from the beginning that the idea will be hard work, so you’re not surprised by the effort you will need to expend on behalf of the idea. These ideas rely on skills you possess and tools you are equipped to use.

Too many people I visit with (many who seem very successful) indicate privately that have traveled down too many roads following trails that led them to increased debt all in the name of debt relief and prosperity. Their immediate needs often trump good sense as another bad idea is thrown on the fires of frustration.

I’m not here to sell you on a particular idea other than to ask you to look into your own experience to see what you might be able to do to help your own financial situation doing something you already know how to do.

I know a man who told me about the summer he turned sixteen. He was not highly skilled at the time, but he was available. His father allowed him to borrow any tool from the garage and that young man put forth the effort to work. He was called on to clean corals. He installed sprinkler systems. He had a janitorial job and he even babysat.

All he did was place an ad in the classified letting people know he was available. That young man didn’t have a day off the entire summer.

This true story is a sample of what I’m talking about. What do you already have that could result in improving the chances that you could make some money?

We may be lured into looking at ideas that offer thousands of dollars because in many cases that’s the type of return we would like. In the end we are often left with the knowledge that all we possess is fools gold while our greatest needs loom large.
